I'm one of the LUCKY ONES. In May 25, 2008, I was scheduled for a mamogram and a mass was found. The same day as the find, I had a biopsy which confirmed a Breast Cancer mass. The Surgery was scheduled for early June, the Cancer was removed and I consider myself one of the lucky ones.

My cancer was diagnosed as zero stage. The doctor that performed the surgery was taken back, while she was about 30 years old, she had never had a patient with zero stage cancer. She told me I gave her back hope.....if checked regularly and found early the diagnosis can be reat.

It's been almost two years. I am a survivor! While I was working with medical insurance at the time of the original diagnosis, I am no longer employed. And through our local County of Los Angeles Ccomprehensive Healthcare Clinic have been referred to USC for regular mamograms and followup care. Even without private insurance, I recently pulled copies my medical records from my previous insurance provider and was scheduled with an oncologist at USC for followup.
